About Us
Houston County Family Connection provides a hub for individuals and organizations to collaborate, share resources, and strengthen our community. Our Collaborative is focused on improving resilience and literacy for children and families, creating a stronger, more supportive environment for all residents.
Through our Resilience Strategy, Houston County Family Connection engages partners, identifies resources, and coordinates programs designed to improve community resilience. By leveraging local partnerships and statewide support from the Georgia Family Connection Partnership, we collect and analyze data, monitor participation, and address barriers to ensure meaningful outcomes for children, youth, and families.
Our Literacy Strategy strengthens children and family literacy by connecting community partners and coordinating programs that foster reading and learning success.
Utilizing technical assistance from GaFCP, we measure program impact and guide continuous improvement, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive academically and socially.
Houston County Family Connection also prioritizes opportunities for engagement that reduce barriers to participation. By providing welcoming spaces, fostering connections among community members, and supporting initiatives like youth programming and family services, we aim to make resources accessible without requiring families to travel outside the county.
We believe that building a resilient and literate community requires shared responsibility. Every resident—from young children to older adults—should have the opportunity to engage, connect, and thrive. Our work is about creating inclusive spaces, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring that all members of Houston County feel supported and empowered.
